Rinnai Gas Heater Powered by Citygas: Professional Replacement for Botannia Condo
When the homeowner at Botannia Condominium reached out to Homeone, their concern was urgent—their Rinnai Gas Heater Powered by Citygas was no longer working. This was a critical issue, as uninterrupted hot water is essential for daily comfort.
During our site assessment, we quickly identified that the water heater, originally installed when the condo was completed in 2009, had nearly to the end of its typical service lifespan of 20 years. The findings confirmed that a full replacement was the most reliable and safe solution.

Our licensed gas service team conducted a detailed inspection of the Rinnai Gas Heater Powered by Citygas. Several critical issues were discovered:
Melted Motherboard – Signs of electrical overheating made the control system unsafe.
Leaking Heat Exchanger – Corrosion and water leakage indicated severe internal damage.
Rusty Gas Valve – The existing valve was corroded, stiff, and unsafe for continued operation.
Deteriorated Plumbing Connections – The union and stop valve of the water pipe showed extensive rust, increasing the risk of leaks or failure.
With these conditions, repairing the unit was neither practical nor cost-effective. Full replacement of the gas heater system was recommended.
At Homeone Engineering, all gas heater replacements are carried out in strict compliance with Gas Supply Regulations and PUB regulations. For this project, we provided a complete end-to-end solution, including gas, plumbing, and electrical works.

A gas leak in any water heating system is a critical hazard that must not be ignored. With a defective Macro Gas Heater Powered by Citygas, the risks of CO poisoning, fire, and explosion become significantly high. Replacing the faulty unit with a new, compliant heater not only ensures safety but also protects insurance coverage, as unauthorized or unsafe installations can void most policies.
By engaging Homeone’s Licensed Gas Service Workers, homeowners are assured of safety, compliance, and long-term reliability.

Upon completion, you receive a Statement of Gas Appliances Testing Certificate immediately. This critical document confirms:
✓ Installation complies with Singapore Standard SS 608:2024 – Code of Practice for Gas Installations
✓ Installation meets Gas Supply Regulations 21 requirements
✓ The gas heater and entire house gas piping have been tested
✓ No gas escapes exist and the system is safe to use
Insurance policies do not cover any damage or injury caused by regulated work carried out by an unlicensed handyman without a valid Statement of Gas Appliances Testing Certificate. Working with licensed professionals protects both your safety and your financial interests.
The Botannia unit had multiple critical failures at once — melted motherboard, leaking heat exchanger, corroded gas valve, and rusted plumbing. Each fault alone would justify serious concern; together, they meant the heater was no longer safe to operate and partial repair would have left unresolved risks elsewhere in the system.
Full replacement was the only responsible option. The new installation was carried out under the Gas Supply Regulations and PUB requirements, certified by a Licensed Gas Service Worker, and backed by a Homeone workmanship warranty and manufacturer warranty on the unit. The homeowner now has a documented, compliant, and insurable installation — not just a working heater.
