Licensed Gas Service Worker

Most gas heater installers do not have a Licensed Plumber. Homeone does.

A Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW) is a gas worker registered with the Energy Market Authority and legally authorised to carry out regulated gas work in Singapore. At Homeone, the LGSW is not just the person who signs the Certificate of Gas Safety — the LGSW trained the team, wrote the standard operating procedures, and maintains the standard every technician works to. The certificate is an endorsement of a system, not just a signature on a form.

How Every Job Is Reviewed Before the Certificate Is Issued

Manager Reviews

The job is first reviewed by a manager against the documented scope and site conditions before it reaches the LGSW.

LGSW Reviews

The LGSW reviews the completed work against regulatory requirements and Homeone's SOPs — independently of the technician who carried it out.

Endorses

The Certificate of Gas Safety is issued only after both reviews are complete. The LGSW's endorsement carries personal legal accountability.

What the LGSW Does Within Homeone's System

Trains Technicians

The LGSW trains Homeone's field technicians on correct gas-side installation and compliance procedures, continuously updated as regulations and SOPs change.

Writes SOP

Standard Operating Procedures for all gas-related work are written and owned by the LGSW — not assembled from memory on the day of each job.

Updates on EMA Changes

When EMA updates its requirements, the LGSW translates those changes into internal SOPs. Regulatory shifts do not get missed because one technician on one job was unaware of them.

Annual Refresher

The LGSW licence is tied to ongoing compliance with EMA requirements. This creates an external accountability loop that keeps Homeone's internal standards current.

How the Models Compare

Others
One person on site. Gas compliance depends entirely on whoever turns up. No independent review of whether the work met the required standard.
Sees one job, no record. If something fails later, there is no documented trail showing how the gas work was performed or who reviewed it.
VS
Homeone Model
Multiple reviewers in office. Every job passes through a manager review and an LGSW review — two independent checks before the certificate is issued.
Permanent record kept. Every gas job is documented against the SOP. There is an auditable trail for every Certificate of Gas Safety Homeone has issued.
What this means for you

The Certificate of Gas Safety you receive from Homeone is signed by an LGSW who trained the team, wrote the SOP, and reviewed the job — not just someone who showed up to stamp a form. The certificate is an endorsement of a system that exists before, during, and after your installation.
