A homeowner at The Shaughnessy, a terraced landed house, reached out to Homeone after spotting rusty water stains and signs of leakage near their ceiling-mounted heater. Upon inspection, our technician identified a clear case of “Water Heater Rusty” — the installed Joven JH35 unit showed corrosion around the tank and heavy rusting on the pipe fittings.
This Water Heater Rusty condition was causing active leaks and had already compromised surrounding fittings and the ceiling structure. The heater had reached the end of its operational life, and the customer opted for a safe and reliable upgrade with the Joven JSH38, offering higher capacity and better corrosion resistance.

The existing system presented a textbook case of Water Heater Rusty — with visible rust streaks on the tank body, oxidised pipe joints, and small but persistent leaks. The rust had already affected the surrounding plumbing network and presented a real risk of system failure.
Beyond the visible damage, the internal tank was showing signs of wear and imminent rupture. Leaving this Water Heater Rusty condition unresolved would have led to further water damage and greater repair costs.
To resolve the Water Heater Rusty issue safely, Homeone recommended replacing the aged Joven JH35 with the newer Joven JSH38 model. Known for its robust enamel coating and extended service life, the JSH38 is better suited for landed properties requiring moderate storage capacity.
We upgraded the entire system, including:
Removal of the Water Heater Rusty unit, and corroded fittings
Installation of stainless steel piping (within 1 metre)
New double check valve for backflow prevention (PUB requirement)
Electrical bonding to meet CP5 safety standards
Functional and leak testing
All work was completed under the supervision of a PUB-licensed plumber and EMA-certified electrician, ensuring full compliance with local regulations.
