Certificate of Gas Safety

A Certificate of Gas Safety is an official document issued by an EMA-licensed gas worker after inspecting and verifying that your home's gas installation meets Singapore's safety standards.

A Certificate of Gas Safety is an official written statement issued by a Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW) after completing a gas appliance installation, maintenance, or repair. It is not an optional courtesy document — it is a legal requirement under Singapore's Gas Supply Regulations, and it confirms that your gas appliance and its connections have been tested and verified safe for use.

How the Certificate Is Issued — The Commissioning Sequence

1
Final Pressure Test

The LGSW conducts a final pressure test on the gas pipe and connections to verify there are no leaks. This test is measured on a gauge — the result is visible and recordable.

2
Gas Delivery Confirmation

The technician confirms that gas is flowing correctly through the system and that the appliance is operating within safe parameters.

3
Certificate Issued

The LGSW completes and signs the Statement of Gas Appliances Testing. The customer's copy is issued at this point — before handover.

4
Handover

The job is handed over to the customer with the signed certificate in hand. The customer acknowledges the completed work by signing the document.
