PUB Licensed Plumber
Most gas heater installers do not have a Licensed Plumber. Homeone does.
A PUB Licensed Plumber is a plumber registered with Singapore's national water agency and legally authorised to carry out regulated water service work. Most gas water heater installers do not have one on their team. At Homeone, a PUB Licensed Plumber is part of the permanent staff — not a sub-contractor brought in for specific jobs. This distinction affects how every water-side job at Homeone is planned, executed, and recorded.
What the PUB Licensed Plumber Does at Homeone
The Licensed Plumber trains Homeone's field technicians on correct water-side installation and compliance procedures — not just once, but continuously as SOPs are updated.
Standard Operating Procedures for water-related work are written and maintained by the Licensed Plumber. This ensures every technician follows the same documented method on every job.
When PUB updates its requirements, the Licensed Plumber communicates those changes internally and revises SOPs accordingly. Regulatory updates are not missed because one person on one job didn't know about them.
The Licensed Plumber licence requires annual renewal and compliance with PUB's continuing requirements. This creates an external accountability loop — not just an internal one.
How the Models Compare
Carrying out regulated water service work without a PUB Licensed Plumber is an offence under Singapore law. The penalty is a fine of up to SGD 10,000, imprisonment of up to 3 years, or both. This applies to the person who carried out the work and, in some circumstances, the company that sent them. If your installer does not have a Licensed Plumber, the water-side work on your heater was done outside the law — regardless of how it looks when finished.
When Homeone carries out water-side work on your gas water heater, a PUB Licensed Plumber is accountable for that work — not just the technician who did it. The job is reviewed, documented, and carried out under a licence that has legal standing. Most installers cannot say the same.
