Site Findings:

The existing Rheem 81VP6S heater was leaking due to internal tank failure. It was installed in a false ceiling with an old isolator missing its safety cover. The access panel was too far from the heater, making replacement and future maintenance difficult and non-compliant with safety standards.

Work Scope for Rheem Water Heater Replacement:

1. Supply and Delivery:
We supplied and delivered the Rheem 65SVP10S (38L) unit, offering a higher capacity upgrade from the original 23L model. This new heater improves water storage while meeting PUB standards. All fittings and stainless steel pipes were prepared.

2. Removal of Existing Heater:
The old Rheem 81VP6S and its connected piping within 1 meter were dismantled and safely removed. Extra caution was taken to avoid damage to the ceiling space and surrounding finishes.

3. Installation of New Heater:
We installed the Rheem 65SVP10S with secure brackets inside the ceiling cavity. All piping connections were made using stainless steel and premium-grade fittings, with layout adjusted to accommodate the larger tank.

4. Installation Upgrades for PUB Compliance:
To meet safety standards:

  • A certified double-check valve was installed.

  • The existing drain pipe was tested and confirmed to be functional.

  • New electrical bonding was added.

  • A new heater isolator was installed.

5. Ceiling Modification and Access Panel Creation:

6. Ceiling Reinstatement:
Once the installation was completed, we reinstated the affected ceiling area. A professional finish was achieved around the newly installed access point, restoring the aesthetics of the condo unit.

7. Testing and Commissioning:
Water pressure, temperature, and electrical performance were fully tested. Leak checks and system stress tests were conducted to ensure optimal operation of the new 38L unit.

8. Tidy-Up:
After the cleanup of all debris, we conducted a final inspection.
