Rheem offers a wide range of water heaters, including electric, gas, hybrid heat pump, and tankless models, designed for energy efficiency and performance.
Their products are used in both residential and commercial applications, with features like glass lining for durability.
Rheem has been a leader in water heating since 1931, expanding globally after its 1925 founding by the Rheem brothers, originally producing steel drums.
Upon assessment, the leak was traced to the tank, which was beyond repair. The heater, manufactured in 2013, had reached the end of its lifespan and required replacement.
The existing bracket did not fully cover the old tank, necessitating a new bracket for the replacement 23L heater.
Additionally, the drain pipe outlet was incorrectly installed just under the ceiling, posing safety risks.
We recommend replacing the existing water heater with the same model to ensure compatibility and consistency.
A new bracket will be installed to properly fit the replacement heater, which matches the existing capacity of 23L.
Additionally, we propose relaying the drain pipe to a safe and compliant location near the floor, ensuring it directs water away from electrical components and adheres to PUB’s installation guidelines for safety and regulatory compliance.
The primary issue necessitating this replacement was the inner tank leaking, which was beyond repair due to the water heater reaching the end of its operational lifespan.
The incorrect installation of the drain pipe outlet just under the ceiling further highlighted safety concerns, as it risks water spillage onto electrical components or creating an unnecessary mess.
To ensure compliance with PUB regulations, the drain pipe must be redirected to a safe, visible location near the floor, adhering to proper installation guidelines outlined in PUB’s Code of Practice for Water Services: PUB CPWS.
