A homeowner at 92B Telok Blangah Street 31 contacted Homeone after their existing Kensington 25 water heater became non-functional. The unit had served beyond its expected lifespan and showed signs of internal failure. The client requested a safe and reliable upgrade. Upon site inspection, we found that the existing installation lacked two key components required under PUB regulations:
No double check valve, which is essential to prevent contaminated water from flowing back into the potable water supply (SS636 violation)
No electrical bonding on the metal components and water pipes, which poses a risk of electrocution in the event of a fault (CP5:1998 Clause 413-02 violation)

To address these issues, Homeone proposed a 707 Water Heater Replacement using the Ariston PRO RS J 25, a compact and efficient 25L storage heater ideal for HDB ceiling spaces. We also upgraded the installation to meet current PUB safety requirements.
Our licensed team performed the following:
Removed the old Kensington 25 heater safely
Installed Ariston PRO RS J 25 in the original location
Fitted a double check valve to prevent backflow contamination
Applied electrical bonding between the heater and metallic pipes
Reconnected the plumbing using corrosion-resistant stainless steel piping (within 1 metre)
Completed system testing and recommissioning under the supervision of a PUB-licensed plumber
Dismantling
Isolated power and water supply to the existing 707 Water Heater
Carefully removed the heater from the ceiling mount
Cleared rusted fittings and cleaned the mounting area
Installation of Ariston PRO RS J 25
Delivered and securely installed the new unit
Connected hot and cold water lines with new stainless steel pipes
Replaced old, corroded fittings with new approved valves
Verified pressure relief and drain discharge system
Electrical safety bonding was tested and reconnected
